Who is eligible for support under eco-schemes?

Only active farmers or groups of active farmers who make commitments to observe, on eligible hectares, agricultural practices beneficial for the climate, environment and animal welfare can receive support under eco-schemes.

Which areas can be paid for eco-schemes?

Any type of agricultural area (arable land, permanent crops, permanent grassland, pastures) can receive eco-schemes payments according to the conditions set up by Member States in the CAP Strategic Plan.

In which form farmers have to participate in eco-schemes? How they are expected to make commitments to observe practices beneficial for the climate and the environment?

Each member state have to choose the forms that best suit the design of an eco-scheme and the national implementation modalities, and clearly inform farmers about the main features and conditions.
